How many children are in the class?

Adventurer 18 months to 3 years: Up to 12 children per class (Parent/Caregiver is in the class with the child).
Explorer 3-4 years: Up to 10 children per class (Parent/Caregiver waiting in the foyer).
Maestro 1 and 2 : Up to 12 children per class.

Can I bring Siblings?

Yes you can, but you need to discuss this with the teacher. Siblings are often included in our Adventurer classes, as you need to be in the class as well. We are happy for you to bring siblings along if you are unable to arrange alternate care, but you need to let us know so we can accommodate for your needs.

Can I have a Trial Class prior to enrolment?

Of course you can!
Trial classes are a great opportunity for us to meet you and your child and will help us to find the right class for you.
We do ask that you contact us towards the end of the term to book a trial class especially in our Adventurer and Explorer classes. Children need time to settle in to feel safe. It is too unsettling for some of our young children to constantly have new people in the class. If you have a group of children we are happy to schedule a class just for you during the holidays ready for the next term.

What do I need to bring?

Apart from a big smile?
A drink of water. Please note that no food or drinks (other than water) are allowed in the studio. This is to keep the studio carpet clean and to avoid putting people with allergies at risk.

What do I do if my child gets upset during class?

In the Adventurer class you are in the room, so I am sure your child will settle quickly with your help. If your child is crying we may ask you to go into the foyer until all is well again, especially during story time. It is important to remember that everyone has off-days and to show understanding and support for each other. Your teacher will have more information on the subject when you enrol.
In the Explorer class you will be waiting in the foyer during class. If your child is unsettled the teacher will be caring for your child during that time. If after a few minutes your child is still upset you might be asked to join the class. It is important that your child has the opportunity to settle without you and that you let the teacher know if you feel your child might find it difficult to separate from you. Together we can come up with a plan to help your child. Some children need up to four weeks to settle in the class and once settled, they have a great time joining in the fun!

What if my child is sick?

Please do not attend classes if you or your child is sick. The children share percussion instruments, hold hands and are close together. Your child might not feel like socializing anyway, so a restful day at home might be the better option. It would be great if you can give us a call if you can't make it. We can then give you a Make-Up class at a time that suits us both.
